I applied. Now what?
After the initial receipt of your application, the Admissions Office will send you an e-mail or letter advising you of your application status every three weeks until all supporting documents have been received to complete your application.

The Deposit
Applications will not be sent for review until the application fee of $100 (Canadian) is received by Royal Roads University. This fee is non-refundable and will not be credited to the applicant's financial account.

Transcripts
Applicants submitting transcripts from schools outside Canada must also submit a $100 transcript evaluation fee or provide an evaluation prepared by the International Credential Evaluation Service or another approved evaluator.

What is an official transcript? An official transcript is one that is sent directly from the issuing institution to the receiving institution without the student handling it. Transcripts received from the student in a sealed, unopened envelope from the issuing institution are also considered official. If the transcript is opened or viewed by the applicant, it is considered unofficial. Unofficial transcripts may be used for preliminary reviews but any offers of admission would be conditional on receipt of the official documentation. High School transcripts are not normally required for degree applicants.

Diplomas, certificates and exceptions
Applications for certain certificate and diploma programs may require different supporting documents. Please see the program area on this website for full details.

Who decides?
Once sufficient supporting documents are received, the file is forwarded to the academic program (or their delegate) for evaluation and a decision on admission. This process normally takes four to six weeks, but may vary depending on the time of year. If the decision is being made close to the entry point, contact may be by phone and email. Applications are adjudicated on a rolling basis. Hence, programs may be filled prior to the application deadline. Owing to limitations in enrolment, the possession of the minimum requirements does not guarantee that an applicant will be granted admission to a program or to the University.

Received an offer of admission?
To confirm your acceptance of an offer, you will be required to submit a notice of acceptance form and a tuition fee deposit, currently $500, which will be applied to your first tuition payment. There is no refund of the deposit if you cancel your acceptance within six weeks of the start of your program, and partial refunds if you cancel prior to that date. Upon deferral of admission, the tuition deposit becomes non-refundable.

If your program is full
If your application is completed after the program is full, it will normally be held for cancellations or for consideration to the next entry point.

The Admissions Office is available Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. PST
