WHERE WE HAVE BEEN

Pacific LightNet was founded in August of 2001 and purchased the Hawaii assets of GST Telecommunications including Hawaii Online. Our immediate goals after purchasing the assets were simple, we wanted to bring all of the previously off island functions back to Hawaii and streamline operations. We have implemented 2 new billing and trouble tracking systems and developed 2 in house call centers, one for Hawaii Online and one for Pacific LightNet. Our operations center is now entirely located on the 19th floor of the Pacific Guardian Building in downtown Honolulu with the exception of our satellite office in Maui.

We run the Hawaii Interisland Fiber Network (HIFN), the first and only submarine and terrestrial fiber optic network to connect all the major islands in addition to two large sonet rings in downtown Honolulu and two satellite landing stations.
