ISOC Education and Training Activities
.ORG support for ISOC Education Programs
ISOC has long-established and well recognized mechanisms in place for defining, developing and funding sustainable initiatives in support of the open development, evolution and use of the Internet for the benefit of all people.
ISOC depends on contributions to fund its programs and projects. By providing support to ISOC, PIR is responding to the needs of noncommercial Internet users and supporting the common purposes of PIR and ISOC.
In the area of Education, .ORG support has made possible initiatives such as the ISOC Workshop Resource Centre and regional network training workshops in all parts of the world. These workshops help to strengthen the technical expertise of local network operators who need to design and manage larger networks as the demand for connectivity in their regions increases thereby benefiting many people.
Furthermore, workshops such as these have helped transfer technology and knowledge to developing regions in a move that is making them self-sufficient in their support of their local Internet infrastructure.

 Individual and Organizational Membership
Your ISOC membership helps to support the organization's work in the education and training area as well as its other activities. If you are not currently an ISOC member, we encourage you to join today. More information on individual membership is available here. Platinum Program
Recently, the Internet Society created a special Platinum-Level Support Program. This new initiative provides interested organizations with the ability to designate support for specific areas of ISOC's work, including Education and Training. Platinum Level Supporters of ISOC's Education and Training Programs
 Platinum supporter of the Internet Society's Education and Training Programs is SIDA, which graciously provided funding of $100,000, specifically targed for activities which support ISOC's activities in this area.
