Gatwick North Terminal
Gatwick's North Terminal opened
in 1988. Over 31 million passengers use Gatwick each year.
Check-in and arrivals
Arrivals is located on the ground floor, The
Avenue shopping is located on the first floor and check-in is located on the
second floor.
Recent developments
In 1997/98 a £3
million redevelopment of The Avenue shopping area was undertaken, adding 465m2
by reconfiguring the area and introducing new retailers including Sunglass Hut
and Austin Reed.
Gatwick South Terminal
Gatwick's South Terminal opened in 1958. Over 31 million passengers use Gatwick
each year.
Check-in and arrivals
Check-in and arrivals are
located on the same level in Gatwick's South Terminal. Check-in and departures
are on the right of the terminal, arrivals is on the left of the terminal.
Gatwick Airport South Terminal facilities
Children and babies
Specially equipped rooms for feeding and changing babies are indicated by
either a 'bottle' sign or a baby care symbol. Other changing facilities are
provided on route to the gaterooms, in the transfer area and after passport
control on arrival. There are fold-down tables provided in some male and female
toilets. Children's play areas are provided free of
charge, for children between two and six years of age, in the North Terminal
departure lounge. There is also a play area in the South Terminal Village, on
the third floor.

Inter-faith chapels are open for private prayer on
the arrivals concourse of North Terminal and in The Village, South Terminal.

Information Desk
Each arrivals concourse has an
information desk where multi-lingual staff are on hand to deal with enquiries,
usually 24 hours a day. Public address announcements are made from the desks
and they have message boards. For insurance reasons, no items (including keys,
packages etc) may be left at the desks or on the message boards.

Post offices
There is one post office located
in The Village in the South Terminal. It is open from 0700 to 1900, seven days
a week. There are post boxes and stamp machines throughout the airport
including the departure lounges in both terminals. Stamps are also available

A medical and
travel immunisation service is available in Ashdown House, adjacent to the
South Terminal.

Facilities are indicated by a shower head symbol. Towels and soap may be hired
by using the courtesy telephone.
Internet cafes
Visit the
Internet Exchange to surf the web while you wait for your flight. Located in
the South Terminal, the 24 hour Internet Exchange has dedicated pc terminals in
a cafe environment offering you internet access, Microsoft 2000, email, gaming
facilities and computer training.The Internet Exchange can even set up an
email address for you. This service also allows customers to attach and send

Public
coinbox, phonecard and credit card telephones are available in the main areas
of each terminal, together with wall-mounted pay fax machines.
Skyview
An aviation experience in the South Terminal which brings
the airfield to life. Skyview includes a multi-media show of a day in the life
of Gatwick, panoramic airfield views, a tour of an historic airliner, the nose
cone of a Comet jet and an all action simulator ride. Skyview is on the fourth

Lost
Property
Gatwick Airport's lost property service, operated by the
Excess Baggage Company, is located in the South Terminal. Opening times are
from 08.00 to 19.00 Monday to Saturday and 08.00 to 16.00 hours on Sunday. A
charge is made for each item.
