Ancient city, city of gods, poetized in many myths and legends, Athens still reminds of antiquity, of many great poets, philosophers, architects and sculptors who once lived here. Very old city, established in 8-9 centuries BC, Athens seem to have existed forever.

Almost every big city (and even not the big ones) in Europe has a certain number of museums, but Athens is a museum itself. The Acropolis, seat of Athena's Temple and the Parthenon, dominates the skyline. Sometimes a capital of Greece is called a cradle of modern civilization. It is the motherland of democracy and the Olympic games.
But Athens is not only ancient ruins and old legends. It's modern European city with restaurants, bars, hotels and crowds of tourists. The soft climate of Southern Mediterranean and the warm waters of the sea make Athens a popular resort destination.
