This report displays the ranking of a site in the major search engines. By entering search terms and a site, this report will query the major search engines for where the site is ranked numerically and display the information in a table.
The 'Organic' column lists the site's non-paid ranking. This is based on the search engine's algorithm for ranking.
The 'Sponsored' column lists the site's paid ranking. Most major search engines allow sites to be placed in the top listings in exchange for a fee.
It is possible to compare two sites rankings by entering a value in the 'Compare to' field and hitting the 'Update' button. This will display a side-by-side comparison of the two site's rankings.
The 'Check it' link displays the page on the search engine where the result was found. It is important to note that this may vary slightly since the results are retrieved from our servers and the page you display may be polling a different server on the search engine. For example, we may report a rank of seven, where the 'Check it' page displays it as eight. This is normal and happens frequently with Google in particular.
The 'Depth of Pages' field indicates how many pages to search on each search engine for the site. The higher you select, the slower the report will run.
