David Oldham, Director of Facilities Management
Mr. Oldham is an architect and an expert consultant in the field of facilities management. He has provided comprehensive design, construction, and operational planning support to such clients as the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, in Newark, N.J., the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, the New York State Theater in New York City, the Folger Shakespeare Library theater, in Washington, D.C., and the National Library of Latvia in Riga.
He designed numerous corporate interiors in association with GK Studio Associates, an interior design firm, including several projects for Bowne & Co. in various cities, national headquarters for the Barnes and Noble College Bookstores, research laboratories for the Burke Rehabilitation Hospital, and classrooms for the Laboratory Institute for Merchandising, a private college for fashion merchandising.
From 1985 to 1992, Mr. Oldham was manager of capital planning and construction for the New York Public Library, responsible for 85 facilities in a $100 million program. He was in charge of a staff that hired architects and contractors, created and managed pass-through contracts with New York City, prepared architectural programs, and acted as liaison with donors. From 1982 to 1985, he was director of general services at New York’s Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, where he was responsible for all operations including maintenance, security, design, and construction. He was involved in planning a new $150 million facility, the Rose Building, managing the annual operating budget, and supervising a staff of over 50.
Mr. Oldham has a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Miami University of Ohio and is a licensed architect in the states of New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut.
