The easiest step in restricting Internet access to your computer is to turn all file and print sharing off.
If you have a computer network that does share resources, turning off file and
print sharing may not be a viable option.
On your computer's desktop, right-click on theNetwork Neighborhoodicon, then left-click onProperties.

Click theFile and Print Sharingbutton.

Ensure that bothI want to be able to give others access to my filesandI want to allow others access to my printersare unchecked. ClickOK. If you've made changes, you will need to restart your computer.
In addition to limiting file sharing, if you use any remote access or TCP/IP software such as PCAnywhere, make sure it is adequately secured with
limited incoming users and robust password protection.
