On 1 January, the general right of access under FOI came into force. This means that all public authorities subject to FOI (including MOD) have to respond to requests for information. Under the Act, requests can take many forms: letters from the public, emails to MOD staff or requests using our web request form .

Please Note: Subject Access Requests fall under the Data Protection Act 1998 not the FOI Act. If you were in the forces and wish to make a Subject Access Request for your personal data, please visit the Veterans Agency website. For Recruitment Information please visit the main MOD website's recruitment page.
