Highlights

New Orleans Passport Agency Reopens
The reopening of this facility will greatly improve the Department's ability to meet the travel needs of Americans. However, less than half of the Agency's staff is able to return to work at this time due to the hurricane's devastation and personal circumstances. As a result, while the Agency will begin production operations again immediately, public walk-in service will not yet resume. Passport applicants in the New Orleans area may continue to submit applications at local acceptance facilities, such as post offices, clerk of court, and municipal offices.

Visa Services for U.S. Citizens
Traveling abroad doesn't have to be confusing if you know the right things before you go. The Bureau of Consular Affairs website provides information and links to pages containing background and requirements for Americans traveling abroad.

Business Visa Center
The Business Visa Center was launched in July 2005 to to better facilitate the issuance of visas for legitimate business travelers worldwide.

Passport Applications
You can now check the status of your regular (tourist) U.S. passport application online, using your last name, date of birth, and the last 4 digits of your Social Security Number.
