Reservations may be made for several transactions by calling a centralized Customer Service Center reservation line. Agents have the capability to schedule appointments at all of the state's locations and can schedule by location or earliest availability.

1. Teens

   We have developed an appointment system for those under 18 years of age who need a road test to receive their very first Class D Georgia driver's license. This procedure has turned what was once an all day event into a manageable experience totaling approximately 60 minutes. Parents and teens are able to plan their schedules around school and work and not worry about the long waits that often resulted in being turned away. When making the reservation, be sure to have the teens permit number available for the Agent.

   
   
   
2. Motorcycle

   For those with a motorcycle permit needing a road test, we recommend making an appointment to guarantee being served. Those without the permit must walk-in and be worked in.
   Reminder: Those with a Motorcycle Safety Certificate do not have to take the road test.

   
   
   
3. Out of State Transfers

   Those new to the State may make an appointment to exchange an out-of-state driver's license for a Georgia license at four metro-Atlanta locations. Appointments are encouraged but not required. You may make an appointment by calling the Call Center Reservation lines. Appointments are offered at South DeKalb Mall, Marietta, Lithonia, and Lawrenceville. 4. Commercial Road Tests

   The Gainesville, Jackson, Milledgeville and Thomson customer service centers offer commercial road tests. They are given by appointment only.
