CASA LOURDES is a two-storey, semi-detached holiday home, situated
in a small, exclusive estate on the west side of Calahonda Bay,
only a minute's walk to the beach. The property is surrounded
by a garden filled with lush tropical plants and a sizeable
lawn (20x10m) at the front entrance, accessed through an elegant
archway.
There is also a terrace in front of the house, a tranquil area secluded
from view by the garden foliage.
The terrace leads into the lounge which is a tastefully furnished
room with comfortable seating and an open fire place. There is also
a TV with DVD player and a dining area. Also on the ground floor
is a well-equipped kitchen leading onto a shaded patio and a double
bedroom with en suite bathroom.
On the first floor there is an additional bathroom, 2 other bedrooms
and an attractive, private south facing terrace, with view
towards the sea. It is an idyllic place for relaxing in the Mediterranean
sunshine.
The house itself is an elegant example of typical andalusian architecture,
with round, open windows, light coloured rooms and wood structured
terraces. It offers comfort and luxury rolled into one, making
it the perfect place to spend a holiday.
The whole estate is attractively enclosed by plants and fences,
offering lots of privacy for sunbathing, eating alfresco and generally
just taking it easy. CASA LOURDES, as well as being ideal for summer
holidays on the beach, is a great place to stay at any time of
year. The Costa Tropical has a mild climate and the area is
further protected by the surrounding Sierra Lujar and Sierra Nevada
mountains.
Calahonda bay itself is a quiet, unspoiled part of the Costa Tropical
and has a wide expanse of coastal area, with both sandy and pebble
beaches. It is a less travelled tourist destination and far removed
from the very anglicised Costa del Sol.
Motril, a 10 minute drive away, is convenient for shopping, banks
or medical requirements. Alternatively, Calahonda town centre is
a 20 minute walk and a good place for bars and restaurants and DVD
rentals. Granada and the ski resorts of the Sierra Nevada are 1
hour's drive away. The nearest airports are Malaga and Almeria,
both 1½ hour's drive.
