Running Marble Rapid on the Middle Fork of the Salmon

Running Marble Rapid on the Middle Fork of the Salmon

ECHO River Trips has been running wilderness whitewater trips since 1972. We run river trips on four of the finest rivers in the American West: The Middle Fork and Main Salmon in Idaho, the Rogue in Oregon, and the Tuolumne in California:

  • The Middle Fork of the Salmon River in Idaho is America's finest alpine whitewater river, featuring 75-100 miles of pristine wilderness, exciting rapids, incredibly clear water, natural hot springs, superb trout fly fishing and Indian pictographs.

  • The Main Salmon, or River of No Return, is big in every way. Its 85 miles cuts through the second deepest canyon in North America and the largest designated Wilderness Area outside Alaska. The rapids are big, and the camping beaches along this Idaho river are huge.

  • Rogue River rafting is perfect for families and first-time rafters. The water is warm, the weather is hot, the rapids are exciting but safe, and the wildlife is abundant: We usually spot deer, river otters, bald eagles up close, osprey, and black bears in Oregon.

  • For exciting whitewater, Tuolumne River rafting in California features more than 30 rapids in its 19-mile course. It is also close to Yosemite National Park, and those guests coming from outside California often combine their river trip with a visit to the Park.

All of these rivers have been designated "Wild and Scenic" by Congress, in recognition of their "outstandingly remarkable" qualities.

We run the highest quality trips possible: exciting but safe, well organized trips, and designed to meet the specific needs and desires of our clients. We consider river trips to be social events as much as outdoors adventures, and we treat our clients as though they are honored guests in our homes.
