GOVERNOR BUSH SIGNS GROUNDBREAKING MEDICAID REFORM LEGISLATION INTO LAW ~Reform plan means better access to quality care choices for Florida's Medicaid participants and more~ TALLAHASSEE – Governor Jeb Bush today signed House Bill 3B, the Medicaid Reform implementing bill, into law. This bold legislation will improve quality of health care and provide more choices for more than 2.2 million vulnerable, disabled and elderly Floridians who participates in the state federal program. The legislation directs the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) to begin Medicaid reform in Broward and Duval Counties.

LT. GOVERNOR JENNINGS UNVEILS FLORIDA reBUILDS INITIATIVE TO ASSIST WITH LABOR SHORTAGE AND HURRICANE RECOVERY TALLAHASSEE- Lt Governor Toni Jennings today announced the creation of Florida reBuilds, an initiative to counter the growing shortage of construction workers and assist the state in the recovery from devastating hurricanes. The program combines the resources of the State's Workforce and Education systems and will train and recruit workers through the Employ Florida network of One-Stop Centers.

GOVERNOR BUSH SIGNS AD VALOREM BILL INTO LAW ~ New legislation extends periods of discount on early payment of property taxes ~ TALLAHASSEE - Governor Jeb Bush today signed House Bill 15 (B) into law to allow counties that were declared a major disaster area in 2005 to extend the discount period on early payment of taxes.

2005 FLORIDA ENERGY FORUM DRIVES FUTURE ENERGY PLAN ~Energy experts, state leaders discuss alternative energy ideas and opportunities~ TALLAHASSEE - Governor Jeb Bush today joined energy experts from across the nation for a symposium to help guide Florida's future energy plan. Convened by the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), the 2005 Florida Energy Forum hosted industry leaders, utility authorities, experts in the field of renewable energy sources and state and local elected officials to address the state's current and future energy supply and demand. The 2005 Florida Energy Forum will play an important role in the development of a long-term, comprehensive energy strategy.
