Mark is an artist with an intense love for music and an extremely vivid imagination & focus. His journey began with fellow artist, Remo Godgy and Dj Nova in the heart of Cincinnati, the Downtown West End. In the early eighties, Oktober earned notoriety and credibility by battling local emcees at parties, live showcases, and street corners.
His use of complex metaphoric wordplay combined with an emense vocabulary and uncanny ability to freestyle flawlessly helped set him apart from the other street emcees.
Holimon attended The School for Creative and Performing Arts and that is where his artistic foundation was born. The experience of being exposed to the fine arts along with different cultures and races was enough to help cultivate his talents and broaden his perspective horizons.
In the early 80's, Oktober was introduced to the United Nation of Nuwaubian Moors teachings of Nuwaupu-Factology (The study of facts and sound right reasoning) by the Supreme Grandmaster Neter A'aferti Atum-Re Rooakptah Amun-Re Ank Tah Divan Dr. Malachi Zodoq York El 33'/720'. This began Mr. Holimon's lifelong commitment to a higher spiritual learning & power. During this time he found knowlege/overstanding of himself and his new voice of inspiration.
Oktober took a brief subatical from the music scene before realizing that this IS and WILL remain his true calling. He has co-hosted local underground hip-hop music video shows and events for Urban Reality/Drunken-Style while waiting for his time to shine. Well that time has come…. Growing up in Cameroon where he debuted with his boys band F.O.K.U.S with three of his friends. The group released two albums which never blew worldwide due to the abscence of the indusry in Africa where they were based. In may 2004, the group dissolved after the boys graduated from high school. Manuel then moved to the United States where he was able to be discovered in k.c.
