Thanks For Your Support!
Village 900 would like to thank all of the listeners who helped support us during our Fall Fundraising Drive that ended on Sunday, December 11. We raised $4,300, over 75% of our goal of $5,500, which will help us to purchase two, new broadcast CD players. Listener donations also allow us to continue to bring you the best of global roots music out there, to support local and Canadian artists, and to participate in community events! Even though our fundraising drive is over for 2005, donations from listeners are always warmly accepted and appreciated! Without your support, we would not be able to do what we do. Thank you. Fall 2005 Villager Now Available In the Fall 2005 issue, we look at some hidden
Vancouver Island island treasures. Meghan Reusing uncovers some of Victoria’s lost creeks and streams via an urban renewal movement called “day-lighting”; Amanda Farrell speaks with Harry Burton, an eclectic Salt Spring Island orchard owner and an interview with Eileen Greene, a Victoria nursing instructor who visited AIDS stricken Namibia in Africa to establish a nursing exchange program. On a journey of a different nature, Victorian Radha Fisher shares how her experiences growing up Hare Krsna have shaped her faith as an adult, and Wayne Dupuis interviews Comox musician Doug Cox, who, among other accolades, is world renown for his mastery of the Dobro.
The Fall 2005 Villager is now available online. Posted: 2005-10-13 by: Village 900 Staff |
