1.         Introduction.

            Recent press releases have indicated that Tourist arrivals in NZ were down in September and October 2005. 

            Our own data base shows that the total number of bed nights booked for September 2005 on our web site was up 50% on the previous year.  Bed nights booked for October 2005 were sharply down in line with the national trend.

            However exactly the same number of bed nights were booked for November 2005 as those booked for November 2004.  As well, over 37 % more bed nights were received in forward bookings during November 2005 compared to November 2004.

2.        Statistics. 

            The average number of visitors per day to the web site in November 2005 was over 649 compared to 578 a day in November 2004, a 12% increase. 

            29% of our Hosts received at least one forward booking during November 2005.  This is the same as for November 2004.  One Host received 5 forward bookings; another 4; 4 Hosts received 2 bookings.    

3.         General.   

            UK bookings in November continued to improve showing a 20% increase over the same month last year.  Bookings from the North America doubled and those from Europe were up 50% compared to November last year.

             The only bookings received from Asia were from China whilst those from Australia remained at the same level.
