Any holiday resort worth its salt should have enough attractions to keep visitors occupied out doors. In San Antonio, Brackenridge Park is a hot favorite, especially since there are boat rentals, hiking trails, tennis courts, a swimming pool and wide stretches of greenery.
Lots of festivals keep the people of San Antonio busy. The main festivals are the San Antonio Mud Festival in January, the San Antonio Livestock Show & Rodeo, the Carnaval del Rio - a musical festival, St Patrick's Day, the Fiesta San Antonio, the Tejano Conjunto Festival, Fiesta Noche del Rio and the Ballet Folkarico de San Antonio. In August there is the Texas Folklife Festival the city's largest arts and crafts fair. In September the Mexican Independence Day is celebrated with food, music and theater. The Virgin de Guadalupe and the celebrations of Las Luminarias and Las Posadas are on the two weekends before Christmas.
San Antonio International Airport has many shuttle buses and taxis that run to and from the airport and the city. Amtrak trains link San Antonio to other major cities. Buses also serve the city well. The public bus service is called the VIA, it also runs a streetcar network. back...
