What is the CD-DEXS?
The CD-DEXS is a CD-ROM that includes over 9,000 project descriptions initiated since 1974 and descriptions of over 1,700 current agency strategic objectives descriptions (FY1998 through FY2001). In addition, you have access to almost 107,000 project and technical report citations.
The current issue (no. 19, data through 10 March 2001) contains over 550 reports in full-text available directly from the report citation, including:
- Budget Justification for FY 2001
- Congressional Presentation for FY1999 and FY2000
- Results Reviews (R2s) for FY1999 through FY2002
- Selected Policy documents
- USAID Thesaurus: Keywords Used to Index Documents
- Numerous CDIE Evaluation publications
- USAID Directory - Contains agency personnel and organizational contact information
CD-DEXS, which replaces CD-DIS, is updated and issued once per year. The new Windows® user interface works with PCs using Windows 3.1, Windows 95, Windows 98, and Windows NT. For information on CD-DEXS functionality, screen images are available for viewing.
CD-DEXS is available free of charge to USAID offices and missions, and to qualifying host country institutions in USAID-supported countries. Other organizations (contractors, universities, PVOs, etc.) will be charged for the disc.
