The PeeWee Gold Elite team recently played a sled hockey game with the Hornets. It was a great event. The Hornets brought sleds for the Stars to use, and after a little training, everybody was scooting around pretty well... and tipping over quite a bit! We even had a couple Stars Bantam players - newly trained referees - officiating (and they did a great job). The Hornets are interested in playing the Stars again, and this opportunity should not be missed. Those who participated will tell you that this game was fun, unique, inspiring and truly of lasting value. Thank you, managers, for organizing it. Thank you to Mrs. Garopolo for creating such wonderful cards on which to display the Glenview Stars pins given to the Hornets. Thank you to Coach John for providing chocolate pucks to all the players (some of those Hornets were downright ecstatic with the pucks!). Thanks to all the families who provided food and desserts. Thanks to all the volunteers who helped make it happen. Thanks also to the many hockey fans and families from all Stars teams who came to watch. It was great to see so many people support this special event. Oh, and by the way, the Hornets won. About the Hornets The Hornet’s Sled Hockey Program is a newly sanctioned program of the Amateur Hockey Association Illinois, Inc. (AHAI.) The Hornets are open to any interested disabled youngster 18 years of age and younger who wants to have FUN and learn the game of ice hockey.
