Fisheries Awareness Week
Competition Results & Photo Gallery Menu 2005

|
Fisheries Awareness Week is a
celebration designed to increase public awareness of the excitement
of recreational fishing and conservation of our fisheries resource.
The Shannon Regional Fisheries Board and its partners invited people
of all age groups in the Shannon Catchment to share time with family
and friends on the Catchment's streams, rivers, lakes and sea coast
during the week from June 4th to 12th, 2005.
Fisheries and angling are part of our heritage and
our culture which we should value, treasure and experience. During
Fisheries Awareness Week, a variety of events took place in over
30 locations throughout the Shannon Catchment.
Events such as angling instruction, free fishing,
fisheries art competitions and aquatic resources interpretation
talks were guaranteed to make this a fun-filled learning
experience for children and adults alike.
