What do you need to do?Action
Technical Support
Our online support for SSL includes instructions for generating a CSR, installation, and a comprehensive knowledge base. You can contact customer service by phone or email, Monday-Friday, 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. (PT).
Renew Current Certificate
You either need your challenge phrase or a new Certificate Signing Request (CSR). VeriSign recommends renewing at least 30 days prior to expiration to prevent a lapse in service. You can start the renewal process up to 90 days prior to expiration, and it will be renewed for a 1-, 2- or 3-year period from the previous expiration date. Consider a 2- or 3- year validity period to cut management time and total cost of ownership.

Has the information on your certificate changed? You can update corporate and technical contacts during the renewal process. If the Distinguished Name has changed, you will need to use the Buy option below. Not sure? Learn how to Change Distinguished Name information.

Securing more than 5 servers? You need Managed PKI for SSL for single-point control and instant issuance at volume pricing.
Renew Managed PKI
Managed PKI for SSL customers should contact VeriSign to renew. Please call 650-426-5115, option 2 or submit an inquiry.
Buy Additional Certificate
If you've already purchased an SSL Certificate from VeriSign, you can buy an additional certificate without restarting the enrollment process. After clicking Buy, search for your common name, order number, or serial number.

Has your company name or location changed? If the Distinguished Name for an existing certificate has changed, you will need to buy additional rather than renew to update the information. Not sure? Learn how to Change Distinguished Name.

Do you need to buy more than one certificate? You may need Managed PKI for SSL for single-point control and instant issuance at volume pricing.
Revoke a Certificate
You should revoke your SSL Certificate if you suspect any of these conditions:

 - Loss of your private key
 - Compromise of your private key
 - Incorrect information in the certificate
 - Your certificate does not work properly

You will need your challenge phrase to revoke a certificate. Use the information below to replace a revoked certificate.

Why is private key confidentiality important? The private key is used to decipher messages encrypted by your public key. If your private key is compromised, your SSL sessions are not secure.
Replace a Certificate
To replace a certificate, you will need your challenge phrase and a new Certificate Signing Request (CSR) for the enrollment process.

If you request a replacement SSL Certificate within 30 days of issuance, it will be replaced at no cost. A $100 replacement fee applies after 30 days. A replacement SSL Certificate must have the exact same Distinguished Name. Not sure? Learn about the Distinguished Name.
