| All VeriSign SSL Certificates support the strongest SSL encryption that the Web site (server) and the connecting user (client) both support. Unfortunately, tens of millions of Internet users worldwide are still subject to weak encryption (below 128-bit) because they are using older versions of browsers and operating systems. To ensure that all visitors enjoy the strongest SSL encryption available to them - regardless of browser or operating system - choose Server Gated Cryptography (SGC)-enabled SSL Certificates. (See SGC: Strongest SSL Encryption.) SSL Security: How It Works |
| The VeriSign Secured Seal is a static or animated graphic downloaded from the VeriSign Web site and displayed on Web sites protected by VeriSign SSL. When visitors to a Web site click on the seal, they go to a certificate validation page maintained by VeriSign to verify the site's ownership. Available in 13 languages, the VeriSign Secured Seal is the most recognized security mark on the Internet and can increase the confidence of your site visitors. (The VeriSign Secured Seal Research Review excerpts several studies and articles related to trust marks on the Web and, in particular, the VeriSign Secured Seal.) VeriSign Secured Seal Program

You will not lose the remaining validity period of the existing certificate by renewing early. For multiple servers, you may pre-purchase certificate tokens (see our Managed PKI for SSL service), where the validity period of each certificate begins only upon issuance. To reduce costs and management time, VeriSign recommends 2- and 3-year certificates.
