Recognition for Achieving Employee Diversity
101 Best & Brightest Companies to Work For in Metropolitan Detroit 2003 Compuware was recognized for the fourth consecutive year as one of Metropolitan Detroit's 101 Best & Brightest Companies to Work For. In addition to making the list, Compuware was recognized as one of ten elite companies for outstanding efforts in Community Initiatives. 2003 Michigan Women’s Leadership Index Based on an index rating, Compuware Corporation scored second overall among Michigan businesses when determining which companies are most likely to promote women to the top five company offices or appoint women to the board of directors. The Michigan Women’s Leadership Index, a joint project of the Women’s Leadership Forum and the University of Michigan’s Center for the Development of Women, released these results in October after tallying the number of female directors and high-ranking officers at 100 of Michigan’s largest public companies. In the ranking, officer positions were given more weight than board seats in the survey. Compuware received 22 of a possible 30 index points, second only to FNBH Bancorp, which received 24 points. Other business in the top 10 were Energy Conversion Devices, Flagstar Bancorp, Somanetics Corp., X-Rite Inc., Borders Group Inc., Herman Miller Inc., Pavillion Bancorp and Tower Automotive. The index project is meant to assess and encourage companies to better utilize the talent pool of women. America’s Most Admired Companies 2003 In March, Fortune magazine named Compuware to its America’s Most Admired Companies list. This award honors those companies that consistently demonstrate Fortune’s eight key attributes of reputation:
To arrive at each company’s score and industry ranking, Fortune measured the reputation of the top firms in 66 different industries, based on a poll of 10,000 executives, directors and security analysts. Respondents were asked to rate the companies in their own industries using the eight criteria above. For the second consecutive year, poll respondents rated Compuware one of the top 10 most admired companies in the computer software industry. Top 30 Companies for Executive Women 2003 In February, Compuware achieved 12th place on the 2003 Top 30 Companies for Executive Women list. Sponsored by the National Association for Female Executives, the list recognizes those companies that offer the best possibilities for women to succeed. Compuware moved up the list significantly from an honorable mention position in 2002. Companies on the Top 30 list had to demonstrate at least two women on the board, a steadily increasing number of women in senior management, programs that groom women for upper management, maternity/paternity leave and flextime. In addition to exceeding these requirements, Compuware offers employees on-site daycare, which will be expanded to serve more than 300 children (including those of kindergarten age) in our new headquarters in Detroit. Compuware also dedicates significant resources such as a comprehensive employee assistance and benefit program, an on-site wellness center and an on-site cafeteria, to ensuring a healthy work/life balance for employees. This is the second time the company made the list. Compuware first earned the distinction in 2001 as well as achieving the top spot for its Diversity efforts. The criteria for selection to be included in this prestigious list was excellence in the following categories: Diversity and Multi-Culturalism, Work-Life Balance, Employee Communication and Recognition, Compensation and Benefits, Employee Education and Development, Recruitment and Retention, Employee Motivation and Enthusiasm, Community Initiatives, and Strategic Planning and Integration. Top 30 Companies for Executive Women 2002 Honorable mention 101 Best & Brightest Companies to Work For in Metropolitan Detroit 2001 Compuware achieved the highest ranking for its Diversity practices, including a variety of programs to enhance the opportunities and promotional potential of minority and female employees. 100 Best Companies to Work for in America 1999 Fortune magazine cited Compuware as one of the 100 Best Companies to Work for in America. The rankings were compiled through extensive research, analysis and a poll of more than 27,000 employees at hundreds of companies nationwide. Compuware earned its 51st position in the list through factors such as its percentage of minority and women employees, job growth, voluntary turnover, stock options, ESOP and the number of professional training hours offered to employees per year. Also contributing to its ranking was Compuware's commitment to providing its employees with a subsidized cafeteria, wellness center and daycare facility. |
