he Inn at Millrace Pond comprises a series of historic buildings gathered round the first ever erected in the little village of Hope, founded in 1768 by Moravians. The original mill no longer works, but in the tavern its relics show and the millrace still flows. Superbly restored, the inn provides a serene location for a romantic getaway. The inn prides itself on its reputation for generous hospitality. Enjoy an exceptional meal in the award-winning restaurant where candlelit dinners are served from an imaginative menu. Energetic visitors can play tennis, hike at the nearby state forest, or cross-country ski in the wintertime. Those whose tastes are more idle will enjoy the shops and antique galleries in the nearby towns. During the summer months, it is said that Charlie, the innkeeper, sometimes takes guests out in his 1921 Cadillac! After prior consultation with the innkeeper, guests with pets are often accommodated. |
