On May 21, 1980, the Atlanta Flames became the Calgary Flames. They
moved from The Omni (capacity 15,141) to the Stampede Corral (capacity
7,242) and exchanged their fiery 'A' logo to an explosive-looking 'C'
logo.

Calgary's and the Flames first ever NHL game, in the Corral, was against
the Quebec Nordiques on Oct. 9, 1980, and ended in a 5-5 tie. Flames
forward Guy Chouinard scored the first goal in the history of the
Calgary Flames at 8:45 of the first period against Quebec goaltender
Michel Dion.

The last game in the Corral was a 6-5 playoff win over Edmonton on April
18, 1983. In three seasons in the Corral the Flames played a total of
146 games (league, playoff and exhibition) including a thrilling win
over the Soviet National Team on Jan. 2, 1983. The Flames lost only 28
regular season and four playoff games in the Corral.

In the space of 22 years, the Calgary Flames have become one of the
premier franchises in the NHL -- on and off the ice. They won the
Stanley Cup (1988-89); two Presidents Trophies, for first overall,
(1987-88, 1988-89); two Clarence Campbell Conference titles (1985-86,
1988-89); three season and two Smythe Division playoff championships;
two Pacific Division titles; several NHL individual and team honours;
and numerous attendance records.

On August 14th of 2003 the Las Vegas Wranglers announced an affiliation
agreement with the Calgary Flames of the National Hockey League.  The
Flames and Wranglers set an agreement in place for Calgary prospects to
continue their development for the NHL while wearing Wranglers uniforms.
After one year of partnership, the Wranglers and Flames resigned for
another additional year on September 16th, 2004. The day the affiliation
was re-signed, was a successful one not only for the Wranglers, but for
the Flames as well.

"The Calgary Flames are pleased to renew our affiliation in the ECHL
with the Las Vegas Wranglers," said Calgary Flames General Manager/ Head
Coach Daryl Sutter.  "We believe our inaugural season with Las Vegas was
a success and we look forward to working with Glen Gulutzan and his
staff once again.  We will attempt to supply the Wranglers with players
that will help them win a championship while at the same time developing
players for the Calgary Flames."

"The affiliation will work like last year. Any time you are affiliated
with the Stanley Cup finalist it has to be a nothing but a good thing,"
said Wranglers General Manager / Head Coach Glen Gulutzan. "Calgary is a
first class organization and we are proud to be affiliated with them. We
recieved some good players last year and we hope to get some good
players again this year. We are just very happy to be a part of Calgary
and the development of their prospects."

Last season the Flames provided the Wranglers with four prospects,
including goaltenders Brent Krahn and Dany Sabourin, as well as forward
Garrett Bembridge and defenseman Deryk Engelland. For the upcoming
season in 2004-05 the Wranglers are expecting five to nine Flames
prospects to play in Las Vegas.
