Business requirements to make suppliers, partners,
and customers more efficient are driving enterprises to look into ways
to securely open up their networks and applications. They are looking
for new and different ways to do business to take advantage of the business
communication and commerce that online channel opportunities provide.
This includes business partner extranets and consumer Web applications.
In the past, authentication solutions have
been costly and cumbersome to deploy and because of this, the proliferation
of these solutions has been extremely limited. With VeriSign, customers
can move to an easier, more ubiquitous universal authentication solution
that relies on VeriSign’s Intelligence and ControlSM services
to provide best-of-breed security for network and Internet resources.
VeriSign's technology leadership in strong
authentication - demonstrated through our partnerships with Intel and
Microsoft, and our role in setting open standards such as XKMS and WS-Security
- ensures the highest ROI for your investments over time.
PKI and authentication services are delivered
through VeriSign's military-grade public key infrastructure and Security
Operations Centers ensuring 24x7x365 monitoring, management, and escalation
across the globe.
Managed PKI Services Include:
VeriSign's Certificate Interoperability Service
enables trust interoperability between digital certificates issued by
privately operated CAs and PKI-aware applications that trust the VeriSign
Trust Network (TM) root CAs. Once certified under the VTN, an enterprise's
CA can issue end-entity certificates that will be trusted and validated
by VTN-aware applications such as Microsoft Internet Explorer, Outlook
email client and other leading digital certificate-enabled applications.
VeriSign Core Managed Public Key Infrastructure
(PKI) allows you to cost effectively establish a robust, customized
PKI and Certificate Authority system for issuing digital credentials
throughout your enterprise, allowing your users to securely access email,
networks, VPN, ERP, extranets, portals, and other applications.
Managed PKI Fast Track is available as an entry-level
service for enterprises needing to secure applications on a small scale.
Enterprises can control the issuance of digital certificates to internal
and external users, while outsourcing data center processing tasks like
digital certificate generation, validation, renewal, and revocation
to VeriSign.
VeriSign's Managed Public Key Infrastructure
and authentication services enable enterprises to retain full control
for access to information while leveraging VeriSign's service infrastructure
for provisioning and validation of authentication credentials. These
services are integrated out-of-the-box with leading multi-factor authentication
technologies, including USB tokens, smart cards, biometrics, and digital
form signing, providing lower total cost of ownership.
The VeriSign® Device Certificate Service makes it
fast, efficient, and cost-effective to embed X.509 certificates into
any type of hardware devices including cable modems, set-top boxes,
Digital-Cable-Ready televisions, and WiMAX-compliant subscriber stations.
The X.509-standard certificates embedded in the hardware devices enable
service providers such as cable operators to perform strong authentication
of their devices used by their subscribers and prevent any rogue device
from accessing services.
Using the VeriSign Business Authentication
Service (BAS) enterprises can reduce the time and costs for authenticating
a business partner accessing sensitive information over the Internet.
The Trust Service Integration Kit (TSIK) provides
Java APIs that minimize the complexity behind trusted application development.
The APIs enable developers to rapidly integrate digital trust services
including secure XML processing, authentication, real-time certificate
validation and authorization.
VeriSign digital certificates for the Mortgage
Industry provide application servers and online automated processes
with server and application authentication, digital signatures, encryption,
and client authentication.
VeriSign
ECA and IECA certificates enable U.S. Government contractors
to access Web sites, to digitally sign documents, and to exchange secure
email with the DOD and other Federal agencies. VeriSign has been an
approved provider of IECA digital certificates since 1999 and become
an External Certificate Authority (ECA) in 2005.
