 Professional Information
  • Teacher Liability Insurance
Governor Bush and the Florida Legislature allocated $1.2 million dollars to provide all teachers with free Professional Educators Liability Insurance. All teachers, full-time and part-time, as well as Administrators have been automatically enrolled to receive this free coverage!
  • Excellent Teacher Program
Governor Bush recently addressed the growing demand for highly qualified teachers. Working with the Florida legislature, $47 million has been allocated for the Excellent Teacher Program and we expect that this year that will increase. Under this program, teachers successfully completing the national certification process will receive 10% of the average state teacher’s salary - a bonus of $3,820 this year - to be awarded every year for up to 10 years as long as the teacher remains in the profession. This year this bonus was combined with a one time additional bonus of $500.00. And that’s not all! If after becoming certified, you choose to be a teacher mentor and dedicate 12 days or more to this, you will be granted an additional bonus same as the one above: 10% of the average teacher’s salary. Each year that you mentor this increase will be awarded. Check out these websites and take your first step to becoming a nationally certified teacher.
