Charles
C. Sherrod Library is the central university library
in the heart of the main campus. This state-of-the-art
facility is a great place to study and do research. Filled
with natural light, it has comfortable seating, a 24-hour
study room, lots of network connections, laptops for checkout
to students, used paperbacks for leisure reading, and a friendly
and helpful library staff to assist you.
With the Voyager
online catalog you can access the collection of more than 800,000
print volumes, plus extensive holdings of microforms, audiovisual
media, maps, and government documents. Don't want to
leave the dorm or drive to campus? The Virtual
Library abounds with electronic resources available to all students,
faculty, and staff from anywhere in the world via the Internet.
For
students taking classes at off-campus sites, there are special
extended
campus library services, including a branch library
at the ETSU at Kingsport. On the fourth floor
of Sherrod Library is the Archives
of Appalachia, where you
can enjoy views of campus from comfortable rocking chairs
and explore unique research materials about the Appalachian
region and ETSU.
The James H. Quillen College
of Medicine has a separate medical
library in Building 4 on the Veterans
Administration campus.
