2002 Edna Valley, Firepeak Vineyard Pinot Noir
92 Points, Wine Enthusiast Magazine
Truly varietally correct, in the silky mouthfeel, crisp acids, delicate mouthfeel and cherry flavors, but goes the extra mile in achieving real complexity. Addictively drinkable, one of those wines whose pleasure is accentuated by a slight resistance, due to a sprinkling of dusty tannins. |

STRONG BUY!
"Concentrated Flavors..."
Medium-deep ruby purple color; berry, cherry, some gamy aromoas; cola, cherry flavors, some tasty oak, bit of spice, lingering finish. Concentrated cherry and berry flavors and good structure bode well for this first Pinot.
207 cases made Score: 87 Issue: 25
RONN WIEGAND RECOMMENDS
January 2005
"A softly textured, full bodied, ripely flavored wine of fine quality. It is rich, quite fruity (plum, cherry, berry), with toasty smoky oak overtones." |

Here is what the magazine had to say,
2002 Arroyo Grande Valley Dionysus Pinot Noir
Square shouldered as a quarterback, this packs spicy red fruit flavors into a powerful structure of oak. Neither fruit nor oak dominate, each taking turns eclipsing the other, now ending in a touch of bitterness, now in a taut boysenberry jam. A muscular, steakhouse red. Review By: Todd Wilder
Excerpt of Review:
You can spread the joy by dropping a bottle of this into the stockings of any members of the ABC (Anything But Chardonnay) club....This wine will quickly change their tune from "No way, chardonnay" to "chardonnay, hooray!" It really does have an element or two to please everyone. It smells like new wood, apple, some white peach and more than "some" vanilla.

Bright, slightly juicy suggestions of fresh pears and red apples lead the way in the nose of this engaging young Chardonnay, and the same direct, fruity qualities come across in the wine's open and vibrant flavors. |
