State Traffic Safety & Design Engineer

The Office of Traffic Safety & Design operates under the guidance of the Director of Operations. The Office of Traffic Safety and Design is responsible for the following:

Traffic engineering policies statewide
Traffic signal permits on state routes
Programming, concept and design of operational projects
Design of traffic signals, signs, pavement markings and intelligent transportation systems
Approval and design of supplemental signs on interstate highways
Administration of the LOGO Sign Program
Management of Statewide Railroad Safety Program
Management of Right of Way Access Program (commercial driveway and other encroachment permits)
Safety Management System & vehicle crash analysis
Red Light Running Monitoring System (RMS) grants
