TF830 universal frequency counter

Description and Specifications

A wide range of functions

In addition to frequency counter the TF830 offers period measurement, frequency ratio, pulse width measurement and event counting. Pulse width measurements can be made from rising to falling edge or vice versa.

High resolution reciprocal countingtf830 universal frequency counter

The TF830 uses the reciprocal frequency counting technique to achieve high resolution at all frequencies. Reciprocal counting involves synchonised multiple period measurements followed by computation of the reciprocal value. This results in high resolution measurements regardless of the signal frequency and eliminates the +/-1 input cycle errors of a conventional frequency counter.
The system yields at least 7 digits of resolution per second of measurement time and can measure low frequencies to a resolution of 0.001mHz.
Low power operation gives true portability

To ensure maximum flexibility the TF830 can operate from disposable batteries, rechargeable batteries or AC line. Low power circuitry is combined with an LCD display to give up to 200 hours of operation from alkaline batteries.

Remote control and read-back

The TF830 is available with the option of an addressable RS-232 interface. This can be used as a normal RS-232 interface or as part of a multi-instrument setup under the TTi ARC system.
All front panel functions can be remotely controlled and measurements can be read back to the controller. This makes it suitable for use in a wide variety of automatic measurement systems.

5328 universal frequency counter

The following description is for the model 5328A frequency counter only. Other fequency counters use different techniques to derive the displayed frequency. The outputs available vary from frequency counter to counter. For further information on other types of counters and their uses, refer to EIMB, Test Equipment, NAVSEA 0967-LP-000-0040. The model 5328A is a portable, solid-state electronic frequency counter. It is used to precisely measure and display, using a nine-digit LED readout, frequency, period, period average, time interval, time interval average, and ratio of electronic frequency signals. This frequency counter can also provide a 1-MHz and 10-MHz output signal through the back-panel BNC. Q-6. What frequencies are provided through the back-panel BNC? The model 5328A frequency counter can be divided into four major internal subsections: the main frequency counter section, input section, power supply, and interface bus section. Additionally, two separate (front panel) input channels provide for time interval measurements. Each channel has an attenuator, trigger slope selector, level control, ac or dc coupling, and an oscilloscope marker output. A third input channel is provided to allow the measurement of 30 MHz to 500 MHz with a maximum input of 5 volts rms with a fused-protected connection. Front-panel controls are provided for you to do the function selection, frequency resolution, sample rate, and reset display. Also, a push-button control on the front panel allows the unit to be used in the operational or standby mode (power applied to the crystal oven to eliminate warm-up). Rear-panel connectors provide the gated output frequencies and an input for an external frequency standard. A detachable front cover is used to store accessory cables and connectors.

UZ 2400 Universal Counter

uz 2400 universal frequency counterThe UZ 2400 universal frequency counter is a compact counter for up to 2.4 GHz. It features two counter channels (channel A: 10 Hz to 100 MHZ and channel C: 50 MHZ to 2400 MHz).
The measured values are displayed in a 16-character line on a large, backlit alphanumeric LCD. A maximum of 8 places and one decimal point are used to display the measured values. The format depends on the measuring mode.
Full remote control (without trigger level at channel A) of the frequency counter is possible via an RS-232 interface.

Special features of the UZ 2400 include a high basic accuracy of 10-10 (short-term) due to the quartz oven-oscillator, and a long-term stability of 10-8 over 24 hours.
The built-in microprocessor carries out a self diagnostics check and makes operation extremely simple.
The many outstanding features of the UZ 2400 allow it to set new standards in its class.

UZ 2500 Universal Counter

The UZ 2500 universal frequency counter is yet another addition to GRUNDIG electronics range of innovative service measuring instruments. Like the others in the range,uz 2500 universal frequency counter
UZ 2500 is based on a sophisticated microprocessorcontrolled operating concept and operation takes place over an LCD.
All the settings are carried out using only a few keys. This operating concept is in line with GRUNDIG electronics objective of allowing the user to work with the instrument
after just a few minutes without having to refer to written documentation. UZ 2500 is the big brother of UZ 2400, which has already been favourably received on the market. It features two counting channels for the range 10 Hz-l00 MHz and one for the range 50 MHz-2.4 GHz.
Outstanding features of the instrument include a high input sensitivity of >25 mV and a time base accuracy of 10-8 over 24 hours.

In addition to frequency measurement and counting, periods and various frequency response ratios can be determined and pulse widths measured.
All the functions of the instrument can also be controlled over the combined RS-232 C/IEEE 488.2 interface with the exception of the trigger level settings for channels A and B.
Instrument settings can be saved and loaded as required.
UZ 2500 is suitable for a wide range of applications in the fields of research, production, training and service on the basis of its performance data and its unbeatable price/performance ratio.
