If every golfer were the same size and had the same swing, every golfer could use the same set of clubs. But studies show as many as 9 of 10 golfers are playing with clubs not perfectly matched to their needs.

With custom fitted clubs, you'll discover clubs that are tailored to your swing and its dynamics. Combining the high performance technology of today's clubs with custom fitting, our professional staff can prescribe clubs that add both distance and accuracy to your golf shots.

The process is simple. The results will make you wonder why you waited so long. In a single one-on-one fitting session, our professional staff can analyze your swing, ball flight and game. In less than two weeks you'll have a set of clubs that has been custom built to your specifications. The next round you play, you'll enjoy the sensation of swinging clubs that make hitting good shots easier than before.

The seven basic elements that our staff will analyze during your club fitting session:
  1. Lie Angle - Most important concerning accuracy of ball flight.
  2. Shaft Types - Graphite, Steel or Titanium.
  3. Shaft Flexes - Ladies, Senior, Regular, Stiff, X-Stiff.
  4. Club Length - Too short of clubs cause toe hits, too long cause heel hits. Hitting the sweet spot is what's important.
  5. Offset - Helps control slicing and allows the ball to become airborne more easily.
  6. Grip Size - The proper grip size creates better feel, distance and control.
  7. Grip Type - Rubber, Cord, Half-Cord, Leather.

Golf Professionals have already had the opportunity to try a variety of different clubs, now you can too! Today, with custom fitting, you are now able to test a variety of clubs with a variety of specification combinations to perfectly suit your swing. If this interests you, please feel free to call the Shaker Hills Golf Club Pro Shop and set up a time to get fit. You won't be sorry.

Clone golf clubs are clubs designed and constructed of materials similar to 'name brand' clubs. In many cases the shafts and grips are made my the same manufacturers as the original clubs and the heads are constructed from similar materials and technologies. These are the type of clubs that we sell on this and other web sites.

Custom Made Clubs vs. Custom Fit

Custom made golf clubs vs. Custom fit - what's the difference? Simply put, custom made clubs are components that are assembled using various combinations of heads, grips, and shafts.

Custom fit uses the club assembly combinations of heads grips and shafts, and also considers the individuals unique characteristics - height, weight, swing characteristics and other factors. These factors are combined with customer input to determine what type of equipment will best suit the customers golf game. Custom fitting will help the individual maximize their golf swing potential.

Cost

Do Custom fitted clubs cost more? In most cases, custom fit clubs will cost less than comparable quality OEM (original equipment manufacturers) clubs.

Custom Fit Golf Clubs Discount Golf Clubs

Pro Line Custom Golf has been building high quality custom made golf clubs for over two decades. Our philosophy is simple: " Golf is a very difficult game. A golfer's equipment should help him play to his potential. It should not be an obstacle to his development!"

Pro line manufacturers make clubs for the masses. They build their clubs assembly line style. Their specifications are aimed at the "average golfer" . The clubs they make are excellent quality. And, if you are the average golfer, they will fit you perfectly. But most of us need some adjustments to our equipment. That is where the custom clubmaker comes in. We build clubs to fit the individual golfer. We adjust the loft, lie, grip, grip size, length, shaft, etc so that the set of golf clubs you get matches your individual characteristics. And we do all this for less than half the price of the Pro Line companies!

Take a few minutes to look over our ABOUT US page. You will discover that discount golf equipment does not mean "cheap" golf clubs. We use the best components on the market. And we take great care to assemble our clubs with pride and professionalism! If you still have questions, read our list of FAQ . Then, take a look at the variety of high tech, state-of-the-art custom golf clubs that we offer. They compare closely with the top line clubs for quality, playability, and good looks!

Custom Golf Clubs

Off-the rack golf clubs are fine for a beginner, but if you're serious about your game, you'll want to play with a set of custom -fitted clubs. Clubs that are made to match you and your style of play can help you golf better and with less effort, and may be the key to hitting the score you've always dreamed of. If you're ready to shop for custom clubs, there are a number of things to consider.

Roger Barber is a golf professional, a member of the P.G.A., and the co-owner of the Barber Golf Shop, located in the clubhouse of the Wilson & Harding Golf Courses in Los Angeles' Griffith Park. Here he offers a basic guide to buying custom -fitted golf clubs:

  • Consider aesthetics, feel and price.
The three things you should consider when shopping for custom clubs, says Barber, are aesthetics (the way the club head looks), feel (how the clubs feel when you play a round with them), and, of course, the price.
  • Shafts: graphite or steel?
All golf club shafts are not created equal, and the biggest difference will be the material they are made out of. In general steel is often more durable and less expensive, while graphite shafts are lighter and can give you a faster swing. The only way to know which is best for you, however, is to try them out at the driving range and see how they feel.
  • Take them for a test drive.
Barber urges golfers to try out clubs from lots of manufacturers. Often times pro shops that are located near driving ranges will let you test out different types of clubs, and this is the best way to determine what is the best fit for you and your style of play.
  • Made to order.
Custom clubs are made-to-order. According to Barber, it takes a manufacturer between an hour and an hour and a quarter to fit a set of clubs to a specific golfer. The clubs will then take ten to fourteen days to arrive in the shop.
  • Fine tune after delivery.
Once the clubs are shipped, they can still be changed. If you find they need fine tuning to give you the best performance, you can take them back to the shop and have them altered.
