Sciences – Department of Psychology – Assistant Professor – Three
Positions Available – Positions are Contingent upon State Funding –
Revised and Re-advertised – Search Extended. East Tennessee State
University, Department of Psychology, invites applications for three
tenure-track Assistant Professor positions in Clinical Psychology,
beginning August 2006. We seek to fill the first two positions in
Pediatric or Child Clinical Psychology and Neuropsychology. The third
position is open, but preference will be given to candidates interested
in Clinical Methodology or Primary Care/Behavioral Health Psychology.
Essential Functions: The successful candidate will be expected to
establish and maintain an active program of research involving
undergraduate and graduate students, to mentor undergraduate and
graduate students, and to contribute to collegiality and good will
within the department. Qualifications: Candidates for all
positions must have completed an APA accredited Ph.D or Psy.D degree and
an APA accredited pre-doctoral internship by 12/31/06. Tennessee
license or license eligibility preferred. Preference in all three
positions will be given to candidates with extramural funding
potential. Postdoctoral experience desirable. Interest in teaching
statistics and covariance structure modeling is a plus. Currently, the
Department of Psychology at ETSU comprises ten full-time faculty and has
initiated a program of expansion including the development of a clinical
Ph.D. program with an emphasis in rural primary care psychology, which
is to begin accepting students in Fall of 2006 or 2007. In addition, we
are actively recruiting three non-clinical faculty. The James H.
Quillen College of Medicine, recently ranked 7th nationally
among rural colleges of medicine, is under the auspices of East

Department of Sociology and Anthropology invites applications for a
tenure-track assistant professor position in Medical Anthropology to
begin August 15, 2006. Essential Functions: The position
includes a joint appointment with the ETSU Department of Psychology to
teach one doctoral-level course per year on mental health-seeking
behaviors and beliefs in south-central Appalachia. For the remainder of
the position’s 3-3 teaching load, the department seeks applicants who
are well-prepared to teach undergraduate courses in cultural
anthropology. The department’s proposed undergraduate major in
anthropology is in process; consequently, the successful candidate can

The new College of Public Health will be developed from a strong public
health tradition with programs in community health,

degree and an M.S. in Environmental Health accredited by EHAC – The
National Environmental Health Science and Protection Accreditation

interdisciplinary primary care focus and unique curricula which have
