Q-How can you tell what is the pH
of your body?
pH is the abbreviation for potential hydrogen. The pH of any solution is the measure of its hydrogen-ion concentration. The higher the pH reading, the more alkaline and oxygen rich the fluid is. The lower the pH reading, the more acidic and oxygen deprived the fluid is. The pH range is from 0 to 14, with 7.0 being neutral. Anything above 7.0 is alkaline, anything below 7.0 is considered acidic. A healthy persons pH levels of their body fluids should be between 7.1 and 7.5 on the pH scale. Using pH paper, also known as litmus paper we can determine approximately whether our system is in an acid or alkaline state.
First, swallow the saliva in your mouth and then suck new saliva from below your tongue. Swallow that. Then suck up new saliva and wet a one inch or so strip of the pH paper with your saliva. Read the color of the paper after 20 seconds. The paper will turn a particular color, indicating an acid or alkaline state. Acidic will be in the yellow to light green range. Alkaline will be in the dark green to deep blue range. It is recommended that you test your saliva first thing in the morning, before ingesting anything. If you test during the day, it is best that you have not eaten in the last two hours, in order for food not to interfere with your reading.
Q-Does extra intake of Calcium create problems such as Gall
or Kidney stones?
An adequate daily intake of calcium (1,000-1,500 mg) is the
recommended dosage. Taking too much calcium (three to four times the usual dose) can lead to such side effects as constipation, dry mouth, a continuing headache, increased thirst, irritability, loss of appetite, depression, a metallic taste in the mouth, and fatigue.
Calcium itself isn’t a problem as far as kidney
stones are concerned. In fact, studies have shown that the more
calcium-containing foods you eat, the lower your risk of kidney stones.

Q- We have heard that sunlight for two hours a day is required for the
supplement to work well. But, some parts of the world get very
little strong sunshine?
Vitamin D is important in calcium absorption because it produces enzymes which allow calcium to transfer from the intestine to the bloodstream. The daily recommended dosage for vitamin D is 400 International Units per day. For people who have osteoporosis, 600 International Units is recommended. However, vitamin D supplements are usually not necessary because vitamin D is available from foods such as fortified milk, egg yolks and multi-vitamins, as well as exposure to sunlight on your skin.
The easiest and most natural way to get Vitamin D is from exposure to sunlight, and the sunlight does not have to be direct. In other words, sunlight filtered by clouds is effective. The sun's ultraviolet rays convert your skin oil into Vitamin D. Just 15 minutes a day of summer sun exposure, even if only on the arms, face and hands is usually enough. Without Vitamin D, even ionic calcium will pass though the body unabsorbed. Our Barefoot Formula has been formulated with the perfect amount of Vitamin D, Magnesium and Potassium, and is a perfect choice if you have any concerns about Vitamin D deficiency.
