The life story of Mary Kate and Ashley:
These two strawberry blonde cuties were born in Sherman Oaks, California. Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen have an older brother Trent and a younger sister Lizzie, both of whom have made appearances in the Olsen twins' video adventures. Their parents, Jarnie and David Olsen are divorced, but still manage the Olsen twins' careers together. Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen's careers began when their mom and dad took them to an audition for a TV show called Full House. The producers were looking for twin girls to play the role of Michelle Tanner. Tons of babies auditioned but the Olsen twins were the only ones who didn't fuss and cry - they got the job instantly. The show lasted until 1994 so the Olsen twins basically got to grow up in front of the camera. They learned how to crawl, walk and ride a bike with the camera rolling.
When Full House ended, many people thought that meant the end of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen's careers. Instead the Olsen twins went on to bigger projects like music albums, popular home videos and a book series. They also had two more TV series after Full House, one called Two of a Kind, and another called So Little Time.
Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are about to turn 18, and as they get older, their careers get bigger. The Olsen twins are set to star in their first major motion picture called New York Minute. In the Warner Brothers film, Mary-Kate plays Roxanne Ryan and Ashley plays Jane Ryan. New York Minute also features the punk rock band, Simple Plan.
