ONLY 10 MINS FROM THE BEACHES! A warm welcome awaits you in sunny Charente Maritime. We have 3 gites of very different character, 2 for Summer and a cosy gite for Winter lets or house hunters. Centrally located in the quiet little commune of Chenac yet hidden away in ¾ acre of beautiful private gardens and orchard. Surrounded by vineyards and fields of sunflowers, the village has breathtaking views overlooking the Gironde Estuary. Ideally situated for a relaxing holiday and yet only 10 minutes from the beaches. Being so close to the five sandy coves of Meschers and the rolling beaches of Royan, St George and the Cote de Sauvage, this is a wonderful location for a beach holiday. The area is also ideal for sightseeing, walking, cycling, golf and many other outdoor activities.

LA ROCHELLE A historic port and harbour with lots of quayside restaurants and great shopping. A fascinating indoor food market. SAINTES Situated on the banks of the beautiful Charente river, Saintes boasts wonderful Roman remains including an amphitheatre. Explore the old pedestrianised area and visit the old cathedral. Take a boat trip on the river or visit the excellent daily market. COGNAC Situated on the beautiful river Charente. Take a tour around the famous distilleries of Remy Martell and Hennessey. BORDEAUX An impressive city and one of the worlds most important wine centres. LA PALMYRE A day out for the children at the famous zoo plus the Cote Sauvage where the waves roll in off the Atlantic. The ILE DE RE and ILE D'OLERON both with their individual character. During the season there are a variety of fetes, fairs, and brocantes held in the local villages. However the style and pace of holiday is your own choice. You may prefer to simply relax and unwind in this beautiful area.

All our gites have been recently renovated to a high standard. The accomodation is very spacious. Facilities include cooker,dish washer, microwave, fridge/freezer and everything you will need for a comfortable holiday.

LE CHAI is a two bedroom gite designed especially for Winter occupancy and is suitable for house hunting in this beautiful area. Recently renovated with a WOOD BURNING STOVE to make it warm and cosy, the gite can sleep up to 4 people. The village of Chenac overlooks the Gironde Estuary and is minutes from the coast. Close to Royan, Saintes, Cognac. English owners are onsite to assist in any way possible. The accommodation comprises:- A SPACIOUS LOUNGE/KITCHEN/DINER with old Charentaise fireplace and original beams. ONE DOUBLE BEDROOM with double bed. ONE DOUBLE BEDROOM with 2 single beds.
