Historic Memphis building to be home for law school (Tennessean)
MEMPHIS — The historic Customs House and Post Office overlooking the Mississippi River in Memphis will be renovated to house the University of Memphis law school beginning in the fall of 2009.
House approves primary seat-belt law (The Clarion-Ledger)
The Mississippi House on Thursday passed a mandatory seat-belt law for front-seat passengers. It is the first time strict seat-belt legislation has survived in the House, where lawmakers often raise concerns of increased racial profiling or encroachment upon individual rights. The bill passed 92-25.
