AusRegistry operates under a Registry Licence Agreement with auDA. The Agreement commenced on 1 July 2002 and runs for 4 years.

auDA has won its TPA action against Domain Names Australia Pty Ltd, over mass mail outs during 2003.
auDA has issued a Request for Tender for a 4 year licence agreement for the provision of registry services in .au second level domains, commencing 1 July 2006. Questions about the RFT have now been received and answered.
