Billy Bunter said it best. "I say you chaps, the Blethering
Place is simply spiffing for a spot of tea." Blethering,
according to the Oxford English Dictionary, is a Scottish
term for voluble, senseless talking, as used in 'blethering
idiot.'
Our tea room is spacious and gracious,
full of fascinating memorabilia of one's childhood of growing
up in England.
Oh! and we have abundant, safe, free parking ..... Only in
Oak Bay ? Pity!

A visit to this authentic, British
Tea Room, is reminiscent of the tea rooms that flourished
in England and New Zealand in the Thirties and Forties. Here,
you may enjoy tea in the traditional manner. You will find
Victorians enjoying moments of "Blethering" in a
setting of lace curtains, aprons and flowers. Billy Bunter,
The Beano and Biggles, Enid Blyton, Golliwogs and Churchill
welcome you,...all nestled in the heart of a charming English
village, just seven minutes from Victoria's inner harbour.
We open every morning at 8 AM for breakfast followed by Lunch,
Afternoon Teas and Dinner until 9 PM. On every weekend and
on special occasions, the Blethering Place brings you an evening
of wonderful musical entertainment with no cover charge. We
are located in the enchanting Village of Oak Bay at the corner
of Oak Bay Avenue and Monterey; part of Greater Victoria on
magnificent Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada.
Car and passenger Ferries from Vancouver, Seattle and the
Olympic Peninsula make frequent, scenic trips to Victoria,
(see links for sailing times).
