U.S. Embassy Kathmandu released the following Warden Message on January 25, 2006: This wardens' message is being issued to alert American citizens that the seven political party alliance has called for a "bandh" (closure) on Thursday, January 26, 2006. While it is unclear at this time how widely the bandh will be observed. American citizens are advised to minimize non-essential travel, maintain a low profile and, if you must travel, to wait until a pattern of traffic is well established.

U.S. Embassy New Delhi released the following Warden Message on January 25, 2006: This warden message is issued to alert U.S. Citizens traveling to and residing in northeastern India, and especially the Indian State of Assam, of the serious security threat due to a series of recent bomb attacks, reportedly by the United Liberation Front of Assam (ULFA). The attacks have resulted in at least three deaths and numerous injuries.

While Spain is generally a safe and peaceful country for tourists and business travelers, crime has been on a steady increase during the last few years. There are three principal security concerns of specific interest: 1) The escalating level of street crime and scams against American Citizens; 2) The Basque terrorist group known as ETA, which is a wrong-place, wrong-time concern; 3) The presence of active al Qaida cells operating in Spain.

The Regional Security Office at U.S. Embassy Dushanbe reported the following:Questionnaire: Airport Security in Dushanbe, Tajikistan1.(Q). Is the airport well fenced, lit and guarded? (A). The airfield is partially fenced, it is well lit and guarded by armed roving patrol and foot patrols. 2.(Q). Are perimeter fences in good condition (are there any areas of disrepair)? (A).

The Afghanistan NGO Safety Office (ANSO) reported the following:Location: Southern region, Kandahar province, Zhare District, Kandahar-Herat main route. Incident type: BBIEDs recovered. Date/Time: 25th January, Approx 1200Hrs. Report Status: Confirmed. Information:Information received through police source revealed that the Afghan National Army (ANA) arrested two men riding on a motorcycle on the Kandahar-Herat main route.
