The United States welcomes Turkey’s proposal on Cyprus as an expression of Turkey's willingness to advance a negotiated settlement of the Cyprus issue.

Deputy Secretary Zoellick recently traveled to Japan, China, and the U.S. Pacific Fleet headquarters in Hawaii January 19-25 to meet with senior officials, key opinion leaders and members of civil society to discuss security, economic and other issues in the bilateral, Asia/Pacific and global arenas. From China, Mr. Zoellick traveled to the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
