U.S. Calls for Extensive UN Reforms Ambassador Bolton (Jan. 25): "Since the United States pays 22 percent of the assessed budget in the central UN and 27 percent in peacekeeping, every dollar of waste, fraud and abuse contains -- peacekeeping contains 27 American cents. Deputy Secretary Zoellick recently traveled to Japan, China, and the U.S. Pacific Fleet headquarters in Hawaii January 19-25 to meet with senior officials, key opinion leaders and members of civil society to discuss security, economic and other issues in the bilateral, Asia/Pacific and global arenas. From China, Mr. Zoellick traveled to the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
