Resubmission Scam - Submitted by Anonymous
“Before I knew anything about SEO or websites, I had a company by the name of “In Vancouver” that was handling all of the maintenance and search engine optimization of my website. I never knew that they were doing anything wrong, but I was always wondering why my site was never ranking well on the search engines. I was paying them $1,230 per year to submit all of the pages on my website to the search engines, on a monthly basis. They told me that the pages would be submitted to thousands of search engines and that resubmitting every month is the single most important factor in getting good rankings on the search engines. After two years of this, and over $2,400, I decided to try find out why my site wasn’t ranking well. I spent a few hours every day surfing the internet, trying to educate myself about what it takes to rank well on the search engines and about website submissions and resubmissions. After about a week, I happened to come across the “About Us” section of Google and read a page that said resubmitting to Google is a total waste of time. This is when I realized that it had now become a total waste of my money as well. I was shocked and extremely angry. I got on the phone with “In Vancouver” immediately and they could say nothing to prove that they weren’t totally ripping me off so I immediately terminated my contract with them. Since then, I have found numerous resources around the internet proving that this is indeed a massive scam, and there are many companies trying it. As a fellow website owner and SEO consumer, I hope that you will take my advice and never pay any company to resubmit your website to the search engines.”
