Teruhide Hashimoto |
President and CEO, VeriSign Japan
Teruhide Hashimoto is President
and chief executive officer (CEO) of VeriSign Japan, the leading provider
of intelligent infrastructure services for the Internet and telecommunications
networks in the Asia-Pacific region.
Mr. Hashimoto joined VeriSign Japan
as general manager in 2000, when there were only 30 employees, and a
revenue of $5 million. He has focused on building up the team, and motivated
VeriSign Japan to achieve an impressive series of successes. He soon
became executive vice president and chief operating officer, and under
his leadership, VeriSign Japan has been growing fast; the company went
public on the Tokyo Stock Exchange in 2003 and reported a revenue of
over $50 million in 2004.
Mr. Hashimoto was named president
and CEO of VeriSign Japan in March 2005, and his vision in the Japanese
market is clear: Not only is VeriSign Japan a leading provider of public
key infrastructure (PKI) solutions, the company will also offer a comprehensive
portfolio of intelligent infrastructure services for telecommunications
carriers and enterprise customers.
Prior to joining VeriSign Japan,
Mr. Hashimoto was general manager of North East Asia at Tibco Financial
Technologies, a position he held for eight years. Before that, he was
in charge of workstation sales at Apollo Computer, Japan (currently
HP), where he started up a sales team for the financial sector.
Mr. Hashimoto believes that successful
leadership begins by closely listening to all customers and employees.
