Research shows that people who have animals have lower blood pressure, a decreased rate of heart disease, and an improved brain and body chemistry? It’s a fact that animals make us nicer, happier people. No wonder you’re feeling the way you do now that you’ve lost your beloved animal.

There’s no need to suffer alone. We’re here to help you feel better again.

When: The first Monday of each month from 7-8:30p.m.
Where: Animal Holistic Care Specialists: just east of Madison
Who: People like you who have lost a pet and are seeking support in a safe environment.
Facilitator: This is a self-help group, not a counseling or psychotherapy group. The facilitator is Dr. Julie Kaufman, author of “Crossing the Rubicon: Celebrating the Human Animal Bond in Life and Death.”

Preparing Your Pet for a New Arrival

The Dane County Humane Society will hold an educational workshop on Wednesday, February 8, 2006 from 7-8:00p.m. It costs $10 to attend. The workshop will provide useful information and helpful tips to better prepare your pet for a new family addition. Handling your pet's curiosity, anxiety and increased insistence for attention may seem like an overwhelming task. However, you can help your pet adjust to the big changes ahead with minimal time and effort by making gradual adjustments to your lifestyle before the baby arrives.

Microchip Clinic

Has your dog or cat ever slipped out the door when you weren't looking? Think someday they might? Then getting your animal microchipped is a must. This fairly pain-free process will help in the safe return of your pet to you. The Dane County Humane Society is holding a Microchip Clinic on Saturday, February 25 from 12-4pm. The cost is $30.
