...a note from Christine...

New England in the fall, the silence of Big Bend, making music at the MoonHouse.  October had some great moments, although there were also tense hours awaiting another hurricane and worrying about family in Florida.  Tampa dodged the bullet so I could breathe a sigh of relief for our family, but I am still broken hearted at all the lives that have been shattered these last months.
We are in the final days of working on the new CD.  It'll be available at gigs in December with the official release in January.  We'll do our best to have it at www.moonhouserecords.com in time for Christmas, and at Waterloo Records in Austin.  Keep checking the website for updates.
I'd like to acknowledge all of our friends and fans in Cape Cod, Maine and Vermont who made that tour such a gas.  We are so lucky to do our work in such gorgeous corners of the world.  Thank you all.

...and a note from Chris...

We realized last week up in New England that those folks eat a lot more soup than we do in Texas.  Over the course of 10 days we had several incarnations of clam chowder, vegetable chowder, plus wonderful soups like white bean and olive, butternut squash, Portuguese kale, and hobo chicken.  In Texas we eat chili, but not as much as you'd think, and Texas chili is mostly meat and peppers anyway.  There's a saying "Them that knows beans about chili knows that chili ain't got no beans!".  The last time we performed in Unity, Maine we judged a chili contest during intermission, and being from Texas, we chose the beanless Texas style chili as our favorite (although the moose meat and kidney bean chili was quite tasty).
We get seafood down here, but nothing like they do on Cape Cod and in Bar Harbor, Maine.  We had lobster rolls, lobster dinners, Portuguese mussels, fish and chips, steamer clams, and Christine enjoyed a late night Stuffed Quahog Clam.

Mmm, mmm, good.
