RTML Programming for Yahoo Stores

To maintain your Yahoo! Store through the editor and also have a custom design you will need to have your store programmed with RTML, Yahoo! Store's proprietary programming language. Larger stores with in-house designers, non-Yahoo! developer, or store owners with a designer friend will all need to at some point need to figure this out or look elsewhere for help.

Solid Cactus has a team of programmers with years of RTML experience that will be able to take your design concepts and implement them into a working interface that is easy for you to maintain. If you have complex custom features that need to be incorporated, Solid Cactus will be able to meet your needs. See our RTML enhancements section for some suggestions for improved functionality.

Important note: Not all self proclaimed Yahoo! Developers have a thorough understanding of RTML and their clients pay the price. When a store is not programmed properly with RTML the navigation is no longer populated dynamically, and you can not specify the contents of a section by product ID (unless using the default layout) among other things which lead to more administrative time managing your store rather than promoting it.

Even those designers who do actually use RTML may not use it properly. Rather than doing it right, they take short cuts that cause redundancy in programming which may lead to your store taking an excessively long time to publish.

If you want to be sure, ask some of their past clients if they noticed dramatic differences in publishing times or if it takes them longer to maintain their store after development.
