Grenada Lake: Trophy Crappie Management Being Proposed
(MS)
The Commission on
Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks voted 4-1 Wednesday to institute
changes in the crappie length and creel limit at Grenada Lake.
A public hearing has been set for Tuesday, February 7, 2006 at 7
PM at Hugh White State Park. The new regulations, which call for a
12-inch minimum length and a creel limit of 15 fish per angler,
will take effect March 23, 2006.

Fishing Report (MA)
Ice conditions have not changed much on small to medium sized ponds in
Cumberland and Oxford counties. However, the ice in York County is highly
variable and on some waters like Little Ossipee, conditions have
deteriorated. Areas of open water and thin ice offer highly
variable conditions on the larger, deeper lakes in the Region.....

2006 LAKE
ERIE FISHING OUTLOOK IS PROMISING
"We are excited
about the outstanding fishing opportunities on Lake Erie for a
variety of species in 2006,” said Roger Knight, Lake Erie
fisheries program manager at ODNR. "The large 2003 hatch should
provide large numbers of good-sized walleye and yellow perch,
while quality smallmouth bass and steelhead trout fishing also
will available to Lake Erie anglers."...

BUCK TAKEN OFF PUBLIC LAND BY 17-YEAR-OLD (FL)
While
hunting with his father, 17-year-old Casey Phillips, of Bay Lake, harvested
the second-highest-scoring deer on record ever taken from Florida’s nearly 6
million acres of public hunting lands. Phillips, a junior at South Lake High School in Groveland,
took the 16-point, non-typical buck Nov. 21 on Richloam Wildlife Management
