I am going another direction in life and will no longer be managing or contributing to this site.

That means that this site is in need of a system administrator. If you're familiar with the Geeklog system, drop the folks at northStudio.com a line and offer your services.

Because most of the services this site was offering were broken, I've taken the links to them down. If someone takes over, then maybe they'll find new resources to put up here.

    It's been fun!!

Del.icio.us Email Article To a Friend View Printable Version

After reading about it for months, I took a rare off-minute to go and check out http://del.icio.us.

    From the site:

del.icio.us is a social bookmarks manager. It allows you to easily add sites you like to your personal collection of links, to categorize those sites with keywords, and to share your collection not only between your own browsers and machines, but also with others.

Once you've registered for the service, you add a simple bookmarklet to your browser (see below). When you find a web page you'd like to add to your list, you simply select the del.icio.us bookmarklet, and you'll be prompted for a information about the page. You can add descriptive terms to group similar links together, modify the title of the page, and add extended notes for yourself or for others.

I'm now officially hooked on the concept:

Relay For Life Auction Email Article To a Friend View Printable Version

Keepsake Productions is pleased to offer "In a Rose Garden", an artwork in glass, to help support the fight against cancer. "In a Rose Garden" is 18 3/4" wide and 24 3/4" high, and is done in lead came.

The glass art was done by Bev Haggett, a local artist and small business owner.

Cancer claimed the life of Bev's father in the early 1980's, and currently, her mother, sister and dear friend are living with the disease. Cancer research for a cure is a cause near and dear to her heart!

100% of the auction proceeds will go to the Canadian Cancer Society, as part of the the *Relay for Life* Fund raising event coming up the last weekend in May.

Bev is a member of the Island Displayer's Team, raising funds for cancer research in the Relay for Life.

The Canadian Cancer Society's Relay For Life is a non-competitive relay fundraiser to support research and services for people living with cancer.

Relay For Life is a community celebration where individuals and teams camp out, dance, and take turns walking, running or wheelchairing around a track "relay" style to raise funds to fight cancer.

At nightfall, participants light hundreds of luminary candles around the track in a moving ceremony to honour cancer survivors as well as friends and family members lost to the disease.

For more information on the Relay for Life, call 1-800-71-RELAY, or connect to the Canadian Cancer Society's website at http://www.canadiancancersociety.org and click on the Relay for Life link.

    It's been a while since I posted last ... busy, busy :)

Here's a cool link I found off BoingBoing:

"Announcing a new platform for internet television and video. Anyone can broadcast full-screen video to thousands of people at virtually no cost, using BitTorrent technology. Viewers get intuitive, elegant software to subscribe to channels, watch video, and organize their video library. The project is non-profit, open source, and built on open standards. Today we're announcing the project and releasing our current sourcecode. The software is launching in June."
