Baby shower 101 was created for new moms, friends and family members who are going to throw the baby shower. I wanted to make a portal where everyone can go to get free content in helping make planning less stressful for everyone as well as add some creativity to the baby shower if needed. A key fact to remember is that you are throwing this party for a good friend, sister, daughter, or family member and that being with good friends and family is the biggest value of the party. It does not have to be over the top (unless that is the way the mommy-to-be likes it to be :) Just make sure to have a good time with memorable things planned for the party since the biggest value during the baby shower is friendship, love, and excitement of a new little one joining the community of friends and family!

Happy Valentine's Day - This holiday season is a great time to have a baby shower since there are so many things you can do to tie in the holiday to the theme of the party. A few ideas are to place heart decorations everywhere, including heart confetti on the tables, heart cardboard cutouts for the wall, heart centerpieces, heart candy (you can even personalize heart candy with the name of the mother to be on the candy). Table settings can be in red and white to tie in the theme as well as everyone signing in on a big heart that can be presented to the mother-to-be to remember which friends and family attended the baby shower. A great baby shower game to play is to have everyone write a "loving" message for the mother and father to be on cardboard cutout hearts in giving them advice when the baby is born. The "loving messages on hearts tie in the Valentine's theme very well. Examples of this would be "Remember to enjoy the moments since they go fast, Get as much sleep as possible before the baby is born and when he/she takes naps, etc. This can be a very memorable and touching activity at the shower.
